Tents....
Just putting this out there, as we have discussed this topic often enough. There are hundreds of tents and bivi bags available on the market from the hugely expensive to the budget types, lets see what you have found, and lets hear your views.
Lets look at:
1.The weight and pack size
2.Durability and stability build quality
3.Room for sleeping ie 1,2 or 3man and storage inside including pockets and gear loops
4.Cost of the product, value for money
5.Ease/speed of assembly
6.Pros and cons ... likes and dislikes
If you spot something nice on the internet or in a store, just post the link and we can take a look and discuss.
Ta for now.

ReplyDeleteThe VAngo Helium 200 is a hybrid tunnel tent, which pitches easily and has water-tight seams making it a suitable contender for a night out in challenging conditions. pre-bent poles offer increased rigidity, and the end vents allow for a clean flow of air which will reduce condensation build up.
Its light weight and compact and at about £250 its not a bad price for what you get in quality.
Specifications
Total Weight 1.30kg
Pack Size 40 x ΓΈ12cm
Pitching Time 7 mins aprox
Just spotted that Gellert are making a version of this design of tent for about £42 on Amazon. Not sure of weights yet or the materials used for its construction, but its worth a look. Its a 2 man tent and cant be bad for the money.

ReplyDeleteVango Banshee 200 and 300 / another alternative in this lightweight division, although the consensus is that the 2 man version (200 Banshee) is a squeeze for this coffin style of tent, so the advise seems to be go for the 3 man version if your planning on using it for 2 people pluss gear! have a read at the reviews, but thats what most people are saying.
