  3. Hi folks, not sure where to post this... all this technology is too much... I need to hug a tree to make up for it all :)

anyway I've just spent a brilliant weekend out camping for the edge to be taken off by an accident which required and ambulance..... everyone all good now though :)

What it did do was test my first aid skills and getting on with it with a level head.... you never know when this will strike so be prepared... you can never give too much thought to first aid!!!!

not a bad blog stream ... something to think about

  4. That could be a good topic to post up on here, if you get a moment you could post a basic first aid kit for bushcraft or if you can find a recommended list online it would be very useful for all bushcraft enthusiasts.
Better to have one and look after it, then look for one and not have it!
Would be good if you can find a link to first aid for bushcraft or mountaineering, so peeps can check that they are up to date with the correct procedures ... they change all the time,

Injury always happens when you least expect it, we recently had a few friends who went on a basic walk in the mountains, and one of the party broke an ankle quite badly on the decent, and I would say that they were all accomplished mountain walkers.
They all managed the situation well and got the injured person down with mountain rescue.
    Defiantly a good topic!

  5. i think your right a good first aid kit is a must, however what you put it in needs care also.no good going for a bandage to find it wet or dirty.or even a tube of something burst and all over the rest of the kit.if im not going light weight i have a hard shell box that seals tight.i can stand on the box or drop it and everything inside is safe.as for what to put in it i think you have to think of an all round first aid kit depending on how much space and weight you are prepared to put by for it.

  6. Good point on the storage box for your first aid kit, that is so important, if your kit is soaked or damaged your stuffed when you need it in an emergency ... I am going to take a look for suitable water tight boxes suitable for the job, I currently have a medi pouch that zips in two parts, would be good to find a better container for the job.
I'll post what I find, cheers!

  7. i found an old storage disc transport box which was a really tough box and if needed could be locked..... but gave it away to some person who drinks eats and sleeps!!!! can't guess who that might be..... so now I don't have a cool box for my first aid kit, but I know a man who has and I guess I just have to bring him along.... at least he had the lovely idea of putting the first aid stuff in it!!! an empty box is just a box!
